Leafless Horizon
AVAILABLE FOR TOURING

Leaveless Horizon is a 45-minute multidisciplinary solo work combining contemporary/urban/indian dances, spoken word, and AI video. This all-ages piece is followed by the screening of Luminescence, a 10-minute inclusive dance film that reveals the creative genesis and underlying themes of the solo.
Rooted in a duet with her “poly-diverse” younger sister and nourished by her deep reverence for trees, the choreographer engages in a bold, experimental dialogue with an “ecosystemic” wheelchair—reimagined as a dance partner—to challenge our current ways of living and consuming.
The audience is immersed in two contrasting yet interconnected futuristic realms:
-
A contemplative landscape hosts an unusual duet between a human-tree body and a tree-wheelchair figure, navigating a world stripped of all visible life.
-
A technologically advanced young woman—bathed in the absurdity of consumerist advertising—extols the virtues of “breathing chairs” in a post-arboreal society where humanity faces a radically transformed existence.
Melding cutting-edge AI technology with text, Leaveless Horizon conjures evocative, layered imagery. It examines tensions between the organic and the artificial, questions the fragility of ecosystems, probes the role of tradition, and critiques a superficial consumer culture in contrast with authentic inclusivity.

The performance concludes with an exclusive screening of Luminescence, the choreographer’s inclusive dance project and the creative root of the solo. Excerpts from the stage piece—including a duet between the artist and her sister—offer audiences a rare and intimate insight into the process.
Inclusive Outreach & Public Engagement: Complementary workshops provide accessible and playful movement-based explorations of our relationship to trees, ecosystems, and neuro-functional diversity, open to participants of all ages.
