Text-Aisle (in progress)

_Damian Siqueiros.jpg

As part of her first production as a guest artist with Sinha Danse, Emmanuelle Martin is seeking 5 performers for the production Text-Aisle, a piece lasting 50 to 60 minutes.

Text-Aisle (Working title) is part of a research initiative that fosters a dialogue between contemporary dance and Indian dance, in a spirit of openness, attentiveness, and shared exploration. The project is aimed at curious, sensitive, and committed artists who are comfortable with the intersection of performing arts languages and with a collaborative creative process.

Emmanuelle Martin develops a multidisciplinary choreographic style, driven by a dramaturgy inspired by the language of cinema. Her hybrid movement language draws on contemporary dance, urban dance, and classical Indian dance, and pays homage to ancestral knowledge, with a focus on the interconnectedness of all living things, diversity, and ecology.

What we are looking for:

● Solid experience in contemporary dance and/or Indian dance;
● Experience in urban dance is a plus.
● Openness to exploring the dialogue between these disciplines;
● Comfort with improvisation;
● Good rhythmic skills;
● Ability to express oneself more theatrically;
● Comfort with manipulating objects;

One role is intended for a more mature performer. Experience in Bharatanatyam or Kathak is preferred.
