The Journey of Intellectuals Is Pure Buffoonery!
This 20-minute multidisciplinary dance piece (contemporary dance + text + live music) is a co-creation with Sacha Ouellette-Deguire, designed for both outdoor and indoor settings. It is meant to be adaptable and malleable to various performance spaces in order to be as accessible as possible. It was presented in September 2024 at the Quartiers Danses Festival, and we are considering making a few potential adjustments.

The Journey of Intellectuals Is Pure Buffoonery! draws its essence from the disheartening observation of a certain inaccessibility and perceived ego within intellectual and artistic circles.
Drawing on the raw words of the renowned philosopher Gilles Deleuze as well as the live music of Johann Sebastian Bach, this trio (two dance performers and a violist) uses absurdity as choreographic material to present the conflicted thoughts of two quirky characters — at times bourgeois, at times lost.
Incorporating a participatory element, the final tableau invites members of the audience to become an integral part of the work. Art belongs to everyone.

Cultural mediation for all audiences: one or several workshops invite participants to explore, through the humor of movement, the accessibility of art. Some of the people attending the workshop will be invited to take part in the participatory final tableau of the work.
